A SUMMARY OF OUR SERVICES Reinhold y Asociados is a small company run by Erik Reinhold, a Dutch national residing in Costa Rica since 1992. Over time Mr. Reinhold has represented a large number of investors from different countries and in a number of very different circumstances. Over the years and while doing different projects he has worked closely together with a number of professionals in different fields. Those whom he formed a good professional relationship with were asked to become associates in the company he started in 2003 “ Reinhold y Asociados”. Basically this company is therefore backed by a group of professionals who have worked together in different projects and with good results. This core network and the professionals involved –in turn- bring in their own network and that is the basic philosophy of the company; we rely on our extended network and will call in other professionals through our existing network if needed. Over the years we have dealt with many different challenges and circumstances. That has resulted in a lot of experience in different fields and that is what we can bring to the table to help you. Since 2003 we dedicate ourselves mostly to “trouble shooting”. A loose term at best but in our case this usually involves due diligence; (legal and other) research; crisis management and asset recovery. The best way to describe what we have to offer is to present you with our track record: Mr. Reinhold started out as an owner’s representative for a number of -mostly US- landowners with squatter problems affecting their land. He negotiated with both government and squatters, with the help of the US Embassy and the consular service at that time. He freed up over 100 hectares by negotiating with the squatters, had the expropriation decree lifted on that land by the government, and thus obtained clear title for the client. More information He then went on to become the investor’s representative and general manager of a 105 hectare real estate development –Lomas de Carara- which he ran for 5 years and where he oversaw all aspects of permitting, design, marketing, road and building construction and office management. More information Upon leaving that company he started his own company dedicated to construction and consultancy and became the investor’s representative for the Association of Investors In Playa Laguna. This group of 300+ investors hired the company to recoup multimillion-dollar losses they had incurred in a large real estate development in Guanacaste. With the help of our legal associates -and after prolonged legal action taking 5 years- this project was successfully concluded with a multimillion-dollar settlement for our client. More information One of the more interesting clients during the period 2003 - 2009 was a group of 230 investors in Teak: the association “Teak Bestand”. We renegotiated their position in the land, took over the project, replaced old management and –after 3 years of crisis management- we turned the project back over to the investors. During the course of that project we gained a lot of insight into forestry investment in general and Teak investments in particular. More information We are currently consulting –on a “pro deo” basis- for a group of investors in a lemon plantation: The Tripple Garant Fund. At this moment we are assisting them in talks with the initiator that will hopefully lead to a restart of that project. More information Some smaller varied projects we have done in the past.
NEW ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES Since 2008 Mr. Reinhold is working in the field of financial services and is in the process of organizing a real estate investment fund that will provide high interest bridge loans to homeowners in need. This is a valuable service that is needed within the legal and real estate community and our company –through our associates- will be providing that service. The Fund will also buy up real estate through law firms, at foreclosures, auctions and other similar circumstances with the objective of managing the properties for our investors for a period of (estimated) between 3-5 years in order to sell at a fair profit to investors once the financial crisis has passed.
